Historical Order for Mercedes-Benz Turkey: 450 Actros trucks reinforce fleet of Barsan Global Logistics

Major order for Mercedes-Benz Turkey: Barsan Global Logistics has expanded its fleet with 450 new Mercedes-Benz Actros 1841 trucks. The lowliner semitrailer tractor produced in Plant Wörth is equipped with a pneumatic suspension, a low frame and an additional suspension system for the front axle. In addition, all trucks come with the environmentally friendly Euro V technology. For Mercedes-Benz Turkey it is the largest truck fleet deal in the almost 50 year company history.

For Mercedes-Benz Turkey it is not the first major order of this dimension in the current year. Just in the spring of this year, the transport company İmza Lojistik has taken over 400 Mercedes-Benz Actros 1844.
About Mercedes-Benz Turkey and the Turkish Truck Market
Mercedes-Benz Turkey was founded in Istanbul in 1967 and started production of buses for the Turkish market in 1968. Mercedes-Benz Turkey has been producing trucks in the Aksaray Plant located 230 km east of the capital city of Ankara since 1986.
The present product range of the Turkish plant includes the Actros, as well as the truck models Axor, Atego and the allround commercial vehicle Unimog. The Aksaray Plant, which employs around 1,700 employees, is one of the most important employers in the region. The plant, which has been certified in accordance with the ISO Environmental Standard since 2003, meets top environmental standards.
The trucks of Mercedes-Benz have been leading the market in Turkey for more than 10 years. Turkey is one the biggest sales markets for Mercedes-Benz . In 2014, Mercedes-Benz Trucks sold more than 18,000 units in Turkey.
