Customers opting for the new heavy-haulage vehicle benefit from highly specialised vehicles produced by a single manufacturer with perfectly coordinated components: engine, transmission and axles all bear the Mercedes star. The basic SLT vehicle is manufactured at the Mercedes-Benz Wörth truck plant and completed by the subsidiary CTT (Custom Tailored Trucks) in Molsheim, France.

  • Stuttgart / Wil (CH), Mar 7, 2014 - The most cutting-edge recovery and towing vehicle in Switzerland for trucks, buses and camper vans recently entered into service in the guise of the Mercedes-Benz Arocs 4451 'BIG ROCK'. The official Mercedes-Benz agency LARAG Fahrzeugwerke AG in Wil is deploying the special-purpose vehicle to provide professional breakdown and accident assistance in the heavy-duty range, as well as for carrying out vehicle transfers. The Arocs concerned is a 375 kW (510 hp) four-axle vehicle. "The new BIG ROCK recovery and towing vehicle is the perfect addition to our fleet to round off our service offering," says operations manager Walter Oertli from LARAG AG.

  • Wörth/ Molsheim, Oct 30, 2013 - Mercedes-Benz is introducing a Euro VI-compliant Arocs in a five-axle variant for a gross vehicle weight of 40 tonnes for extreme operations in the construction industry. The model has been developed by CTT (Customer Tailored Trucks) at Mercedes-Benz Molsheim S.A.S., where it will be built in future. The acknowledged competence centre for truck conversions, based in the Alsace region of France, is thus expanding its portfolio with further specialised models.

  • Wörth/Molsheim, Sep 16, 2013 - With the sales launch of its new Mercedes-Benz SLT heavy-duty tractor unit for the European markets, Mercedes-Benz Trucks is completing the introduction of its new truck model series featuring Euro VI in-line six-cylinder engines. The new family of Mercedes-Benz trucks for heavy-duty transport is available for the first time as the variants Actros-SLT with air suspension and Arocs-SLT with steel suspension, while the Arocs is also alternatively available with all-wheel drive.

  • Stuttgart, Aug 13, 2013 - At the beginning of June the very first Arocs built to customer specifications were collected at the end of the assembly line by Dr Wolfgang Bernhard, Board of Management member of Daimler AG responsible for Daimler Trucks and Daimler Buses, marking the start of series production in Wörth. Immediately afterwards the Arocs with the serial numbers 2 to 4 were brought from the assembly line to a bodybuilder to be prepared there for their punishing work.

It was followed last year by the Antos for heavy-duty distribution transportation, and the Arocs, “the new force for construction applications,” is now celebrating its world premiere.
