- Stuttgart / Hannover, Sep 19, 2018 - Significantly lower fuel consumption with manageable additional costs – the Mercedes‑Benz Citaro hybrid is the hybrid bus that pays off. It was this feature that also impressed a jury of respected specialist publications from seven European countries, which awarded the Citaro Ü hybrid the Sustainable Bus Award 2019 for rural-service buses at the IAA International Commercial Vehicle Show.

- Stuttgart / Mannheim, Sep 7, 2018 - The new Mercedes Benz eCitaro raises electromobility for city buses to a new level – and this also applies to the safety level of the fully electrically powered bus, which will celebrate its public premiere at the International Commercial Vehicle Show (IAA) in Hanover in September.

- Stuttgart/Krakow/Gdansk/Bialystok, May 25, 2018 - From September 2018, 86 Mercedes-Benz city buses will be arriving to reinforce the fleet of the Krakow public transport authority. Poland's second-largest public transport authority has placed an order for 56 Mercedes-Benz Citaro and 30 Mercedes-Benz Citaro hybrid vehicles.

- Stuttgart / Madrid, May 30, 2016 - Transport operator EMT in the Spanish capital Madrid with its around 3.2 million inhabitants is a long-time user of alternative drives in its buses. The focus of its alternative drives will be the gas engine. So far, the use of natural-gas vehicles has made it possible to cut emissions by over 80 per cent.

- Stuttgart/Mannheim, Dec 11, 2015 - Augsburger Stadtwerke has the ambitious aim of making its entire local public transport operation CO2-neutral by 2017. As far as its bus fleet is concerned, the Augsburg-based public utility has already achieved this aim as the buses serving the city have been running on environmentally friendly natural gas for many years and even on 100-percent renewable natural gas for the past year.

- Stuttgart/Lörsch, Nov 26, 2015 - On 26 November 2015 at the Lorsch Abbey UNESCO World Heritage site, Verkehrsgesellschaft Gersprenztal mbH (VGG) and Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Neckar GmbH (VRN) staged a public presentation of 13 new Mercedes-Benz Citaro LE (Low Entry) vehicles and two Mercedes-Benz Sprinter City 65 vehicles for serving the new Ried bus network.

- Stuttgart / Mannheim, Apr 24, 2015 - Large-capacity bus rather than mega-tailback, a whispering gas engine, an outlook on the intelligent electric drive systems of tomorrow and an app already giving a free choice between all means of transport today – at the UITP Congress, the world congress for transport operators, Daimler is presenting itself as a full-line provider of mobility. - Mannheim, Nov 17, 2014 - The Mercedes-Benz Citaro is celebrating a key milestone at the ONC new bus centre in Mannheim: almost eight months to the day after the delivery of the 1000th Citaro Euro VI and only 11 months after the introduction of the relevant statutory requirement, the 3000th regular-service bus fitted with the economical engine generation is ready for collection.

- Stuttgart / Hannover , Sep 25, 2014 - The Mercedes-Benz Citaro Euro VI received the "Green Bus Award 2014" at the IAA - the world's leading exhibition for commercial vehicles. The prize has been awarded annually since 2011 to a touring coach and an urban bus in alternation by the specialist publications "Omnibusrevue" and "Busfahrer".

- Stuttgart/Mannheim, Mar 7, 2014 - Almost in parallel with the statutory deadline for the introduction of the Euro VI emissions standard at the start of 2014, today Mercedes-Benz is already handing over its 1000th Citaro model featuring Euro VI exhaust gas technology to a customer. Ralf Steinmetz, Director of transport company HEAG mobiBus in Darmstadt, took delivery of the urban bus from Ulrich Piotrowski, Head of Sales of the Mercedes-Benz Bus and Coach unit, Region West, at the New Bus & Coach Vehicle Center (ONC) in Mannheim.

- Stuttgart/Kortrijk, Oct 31, 2013 - With a total of six trade show premieres – from the Sprinter minibus through to the super-high-deck touring coach - Daimler Buses has completed the initial launch of its bus and coach range featuring Euro VI exhaust technology at "Busworld Kortrijk". Immediately following the trade show in Belgium, all of the vehicles celebrating their premieres have now headed off to take part in numerous market launch activities being held throughout Europe.

- Stuttgart, Aug 16, 2013 - On 15 August 2013 Ulrich Sieg, director of operations and infrastructure at Hamburger Hochbahn AG, and Steffen Rothhardt, head of the buses division at Hamburger Hochbahn AG, commissioned the 50th Mercedes-Benz Citaro to be delivered in 2013. The anniversary vehicle symbolises the more than 15 years of trust which Hamburger Hochbahn AG has placed in the Citaro concept since 1997. Tammo Voigt, Head of Public Transport Fleet Sales at Mercedes-Benz Buses & Coaches, handed over the vehicle at the port of Hamburg.

- Stuttgart/Munich, Jun 13, 2013 - For the first time ever, a company has won the "Goldener Öltropfen" award for two developments: Daimler AG triumphed in the passenger cars segment with its NANOSLIDE® technology, while in the commercial vehicles segment the award went to the new Mercedes-Benz Citaro Euro VI with recuperation module.

- Stuttgart/Mannheim, Jun 11, 2013 - – A secured hydrogen infrastructure is a prerequisite for the successful launch of environment- and resource-friendly fuel-cell technology in mobile use. The commissioning of the hydrogen filling station by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) on its Campus North site coincides with the start of operations for the shuttle service planned for students and employees, in the form of two Mercedes-Benz Citaro FuelCELL Hybrid fuel-cell buses. Ulrich Piotrowski, Head of Sales Mercedes-Benz Buses Region West, was present at the inauguration of the filling station on 11 June and officially sent the shuttle vehicles into regular-service operation.

- Stuttgart/Geneva, May 27, 2013 - The Mercedes-Benz stand at the UITP Congress in Geneva from 26 – 29 May will be dominated by the Citaro, the world's best-selling regular-service urban bus model. The Citaro takes to the stage at the World Congress for transport operators as the first regular-service bus to offer a complete range of Euro VI-compliant models.

- Stuttgart, May 15, 2013 - Trier’s public utility company has put three new Citaro Euro VI buses into service. The urban buses equipped with Euro VI exhaust treatment technology significantly improve urban environmental quality thanks to emissions that are 80 percent lower than those of their predecessors. At the same time, the fuel expenses of the transport operator are lower because the new buses use more than 8 percent less diesel fuel.

- Stuttgart/Mannheim, Apr 17, 2013 - The delivery of the first two Mercedes-Benz Citaro Low Entry (LE) Euro VI models to the company infra fürth verkehr gmbh marks the expansion of the new Citaro family by a total of five Low Entry model variants. Klaus Dieregsweiler, representative for infra fürth verkehr gmbh, took delivery of the symbolic keys to the first Citaro LE from Rüdiger Kappel, brand spokesperson for Mercedes-Benz Buses and Coaches, Germany, at the Mercedes-Benz bus plant in Mannheim on 16 April.

- Stuttgart, Nov 28, 2012 - Beginning on May 1, 2013, 159 new-generation Mercedes-Benz Citaro urban buses will be providing comfortable, environmentally compatible passenger transport in the Hungarian capital of Budapest. Daimler Buses landed the major order in early November 2012, and will begin delivering the first urban buses to Budapest in April 2013. The contract is the biggest order to date for the new generation of Mercedes-Benz urban buses. The vehicles were ordered by Hungary’s largest private bus company, VT Transman, which operates both regional and municipal bus lines.

- Stuttgart/Frankfurt, Oct 26, 2012 - When passengers need to be transported from the airport building to the aeroplanes or vice versa and the aircraft cannot dock directly with the terminal itself, the solution for ensuring mobility is the airfield shuttle bus. On 22 October 2012, the company that operates Frankfurt Airport, Fraport AG, put 28 Mercedes-Benz Citaro airfield shuttle buses into service.

- Stuttgart/Wiesbaden, Oct 22, 2012 - The green flag has dropped for the Record Run Buses 2012: At 2 p.m. in Wiesbaden today, Martin Zeilinger, head of product engineering testing drive technology and product quality Daimler Buses, sent off five Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses on an unprecedented efficiency test. The new Mercedes-Benz Citaro urban regular-service bus and the new Setra ComfortClass 500 high-deck touring coach are to prove that buses meeting Euro VI emission standards can consume less fuel than their predecessor models.

- Stuttgart, Oct 18, 2012 - The internationally renowned EcoGlobe environmental prize, awarded for ecological innovations, goes to Daimler AG in 2012, too. In the category “Concept vehicles”, the Mercedes-Benz F 125! research vehicle was distinguished with the first prize. In addition, the Mercedes-Benz Citaro FuelCELL Hybrid bus was awarded the second prize in the category “Mobility models”.

- Stuttgart/Brüssel, Oct 16, 2012 - Four years of project work, 48 partners, 7 demonstration projects and a total budget of around 26 million – these are just some of the statistics generated by the European Bus System of the Future, or EBSF for short, which is the biggest road-related transportation project to be funded by the European Commission to date. On 15 October 2012, the International Association of Public Transport (in French: Union Internationale des Transports Publics, UITP) - as the body designated to lead and coordinate the EBSF project - presented the results of the individual EBSF projects, or so-called "Use Cases", to the press in Brussels.

- Stuttgart, Oct 1, 2012 - In the fuel cell bus category, the Citaro FuelCELL Hybrid won the EBUS Award, the environmental award for public local transport. Roman Biondi, brand spokesman for Mercedes-Benz buses and EvoBus, and Ulrich Piotrowski, the Market Launch Manager for Mercedes-Benz hybrid and electric buses, accepted the award in Cologne on 28 September 2012 from Professor Ralph Pütz of the Landshut University of Applied Sciences, in the presence of Rainer Bomba, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development.

- Stuttgart/Versailles/Hanover, Sep 19, 2012 - Its technical innovations have helped it to knock the technical trailblazers of a new era out of the running: in this year's rivalry for title of "Bus of the Year 2013" the new Citaro with Euro VI engine won the overwhelming support of the international jury of experts, way ahead of its competitors, almost all of whom were relying on hybrid technology. The new Citaro is already the first standard-production regular-service bus to include Euro VI technology and continues to extend its competitive advantage.
