Shanghai. At Auto Shanghai Mercedes-Benz is once again unveiling the future of the car: the new S-Class with new assistance systems, new comfort features, new engines and further pioneering technologies is celebrating its world premiere. The show car "Concept A Sedan" is also presenting a first look ahead at the next-generation successful compact car family.
The highlight of this year’s Auto Shanghai is the world premiere of the new S-Class, which underscores the premium status of the Mercedes-Benz flagship in the luxury automotive segment. The performance models S 63 4MATIC+ (combined fuel consumption: 8.9 l/100 km, combined CO2 emissions: 203 g/km) and S 65 (combined fuel consumption: 11.9 l/100 km, combined CO2 emissions: 279 g/km) from Mercedes-AMG are also celebrating their debut.
Also on view for the first time is the show car "Concept A Sedan" which, with its harmoniously balanced proportions and sensuous surface design, demonstrates the enhanced design idiom of Mercedes-Benz and thus presents a taster of the compact class family’s future.
Celebrating their Asian premiere in Shanghai are the revised compact SUV GLA and the special model smart forfour crosstown edition (combined fuel consumption: 4.3 l/100 km, combined CO2 emissions: 99 g/km). Mercedes-AMG is now also launching the successful 43 models of the GLC, C-Class and E-Class in China (GLC 43 4MATIC SUV/Coupe: fuel consumption, combined: 8.3/8.4 l/100 km, combined CO2 emissions: 189/192 g/km; C 43 4MATIC: Fuel consumption, combined: 7.6 l/100 km, combined CO2 emissions: 178 g/km; E 43 4MATIC: Fuel consumption, combined: 8.2 l/100 km, combined CO2 emissions: 187 g/km).
Stand with a special ambience: "Silver Flow"
At the stand Mercedes-Benz is greeting its visitors in the exciting "Silver Flow" ambience. The large, dynamically shaped sculpture made of silver louvres appears to be floating freely and extends over the stand, which measures a total of 3,550 square metres. It connects to the stage area with the central media space and creates the perfect atmosphere for presenting the models with the star. Mercedes-Benz Cars is presenting a total of 36 vehicles.
