To get the milk onto the breakfast tables or to processing facilities while it is still fresh, about 500 trucks of the milk transporter “Vía Lácteos” make daily tours to remote farms – not just on tarred roads but also on rough and narrow slopes.

  • Stuttgart / São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, Oct 21, 2013 - Daimler Trucks has scored again with yet another government order in Brazil: The subsidiary, Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, managed to win over the Brazilian Ministry of Agrarian Development (“Ministério do Desenvolvimento Agrário” (MDA)) in a call for tenders with the Mercedes-Benz Atron, which is specifically built for the market. A total of 2,884 dump trucks have been ordered and will be delivered to several communities in rural regions of Brazil by the end of the year, starting immediately.

  • Stuttgart/São Paulo, May 29, 2013 - The 2014 World Soccer Championship gradually approaches and metropolitan cities in Brazil are preparing themselves for the rise in traffic volumes during the mega sports event with infrastructural projects and fleet renewals. As part of this, Daimler´s subsidiary Mercedes-Benz do Brasil has received large orders for a total of 80 Mercedes-Benz buses. The buses are equipped with environmentally friendly BlueTec 5-technology and meet the PROCONVE P-7 exhaust standard.

  • Stuttgart / São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, Dec 19, 2011 - Mercedes-Benz do Brasil continues to register a high level of orders for medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks. One of Brazil’s largest construction companies, Camargo Corrêa has now ordered 115 Mercedes-Benz trucks in order to upgrade its fleet. The order encompasses a wide range of products, including medium-duty Atego, heavy-duty Axor and Actros trucks. As part of the government’s Growth Acceleration Program (“Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento”/PAC), Camargo Corrêa is currently involved in a number of infrastructure projects for expansion of roads and rail systems.

The record was achieved in March of this year, with 1,383 units. Since the beginning of this year Mercedes-Benz has sold a total of 4,417 heavy-duty trucks in Brazil, about 90 percent more than in the same period of 2009.

  • São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, Mar 18, 2010 - Mercedes-Benz do Brasil has received an order for delivery of 550 trucks to Casas Bahia, Brazil’s leading retail company for home appliances, electrical and electronic devices. The lion’s share of the order covers 380 units of the Mercedes-Benz Accelo 915 C light truck. Mercedes-Benz do Brasil will also deliver 148 FPN 1718 semi-heavy cab-over-engine models and 13 units of the 710 short-hood truck, both of which are part of Mercedes-Benz do Brasil’s traditional product line – the Linha Tradicional.

  • São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, Mar 5, 2010 - Mercedes-Benz do Brasil signed a contract today with the Brazilian bank Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Económico e Social (BNDES) for a loan in the amount of R$ 1.2 billion (roughly €460 million). The leading manufacturer of commercial vehicles in Brazil will use these funds to expand its production capacity at the São Bernardo do Campo plant near São Paulo. Trucks, bus chassis, engines, transmissions, and axles are produced at the plant.

São Bernardo do Campo is the only plant of Daimler Trucks to produce trucks, bus chassis, engines, and other aggregates at the same production site. The engines are also delivered to other Daimler Group sites, such as in Argentina, where they are installed in Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans.

Between January and September 2009, the Brazilian unit of Daimler Trucks registered sales volume of more than 23,000 units of all weight classes. This equals a decrease of -20% compared to the same period of the record year 2008, a decline that has been much lower than in other major Mercedes-Benz truck market worldwide.
