  • Stuttgart/Indianapolis, Mar 4, 2015 - Mercedes-Benz Vans USA is launching another star in the U.S. van market: the Metris. This midsize van is the U.S. version of the new Vito, and it is celebrating its premiere today (March 4) at The Work Truck Show. Beginning in September, the Metris will be available in a variety of panel van (cargo) and Tourer (passenger) versions at the more than 200 dealerships run by Mercedes-Benz Vans USA.

  • Stuttgart, Germany / Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA, Jan 27, 2015 - Mercedes-Benz is reorganizing its SUV production and will expand production capacities in the USA. The U.S. contract manufacturer AM General will join the production network of Mercedes-Benz Cars, producing the R-Class in South Bend, Indiana, in the future. Production capacities at the Mercedes-Benz Tuscaloosa plant (Mercedes-Benz U.S. International – MBUSI), which will be gradually be released in this process, will then be used for the M-Class, the GL-Class and the new GLE Coupé due in summer.

  • Tuscaloosa, USA, Sep 5, 2014 - Mercedes-Benz sees good prospects in the US market and is expanding the local production capacities in the country. “We are consistently seeing record sales in the USA. By launching the new C-Class we are setting new standards in our biggest sales market,” said Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, during a visit to the Mercedes-Benz Tuscaloosa plant in the US state of Alabama. Unit sales of Mercedes-Benz in the USA were up by 8.2 percent to 205,894 vehicles in the first eight months of the year.

  • Stuttgart / Portland, USA, Jul 24, 2014 - The first sod has been turned: Daimler’s wholly-owned commercial vehicle subsidiary Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is starting construction of the new headquarters building on Swan Island in Portland, Oregon. The new building will aid in merging DTNA employees located in separate offices in the Portland region. To this end, Daimler is investing 150 million US dollars to completion in the year 2016.

  • Stuttgart, Germany / Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA, Oct 21, 2011 - Daimler will further expand its U.S. plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama: as of 2015, an entirely new Mercedes-Benz model will roll off the production line as its fifth product. The plant has been the traditional production site of the brand’s M-, GL-, and R-Class SUVs and will also build the C-Class for the North American market beginning 2014. For the production of the new model, Daimler will additionally invest US$ 350 million, and will create some 400 further jobs at the plant.
