  • Stuttgart/Jawor , May 4, 2016 - Daimler AG plans to invest approximately 500 million euros in a new production facility in Poland, creating several hundred new jobs there. The first Mercedes-Benz Cars plant in Poland is to be established in Jawor, about 70 kilometres west of Wroclaw, and will produce four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars. The location decision and implementation of the project are dependent on various final commitments regarding the investment conditions, including the granting of state aid for the investment in Jawor.

  • Iracemápolis, Mar 23, 2016 - Mercedes-Benz is starting local vehicle production in Brazil with a new plant in Iracemápolis. The site was officially opened in the presence of guests from politics, industry and society. The company invests a total of over BRL 600 million in the new plant creating 600 jobs in the beginning. The first cars to roll off the production line in Iracemápolis are the C-Class Saloon and, from summer 2016, the GLA compact SUV.

Today the new regional center for commercial vehicles started business in South East Asia. Responsible for 18 markets, the new Daimler South East Asia Pte Ltd regional center (DSEA) based in Singapore oversees sales and service activities covering both Mercedes-Benz trucks, buses and vans and FUSO trucks and buses – from the urban light duty Mercedes-Benz Citan transporter to the heavy-duty FUSO Super Great.

  • Dubai, Oct 29, 2015 - Daimler has opened its first regional center for commercial vehicles for the Middle East and North Africa, situated in Dubai, UAE. Daimler Commercial Vehicles Middle East & North Africa (DCV MENA) will support 19 countries - from Morocco to Pakistan - from its regional office in Dubai. The new entity will be responsible for the group's full commercial vehicles portfolio in the region – from the Mercedes-Benz Citan city van to the heavy-duty Mercedes-Benz Actros truck.

  • Stuttgart/Lissabon, Jun 30, 2015 - One year after the hand-over of Fuso Canter E-Cell trucks to selected customers, the trials for the battery-electric-powered “Zero Emission” vehicle were officially completed in Portugal. At an event held in Lisbon, Paulo Portas, Deputy Prime Minister of Portugal, representatives of government authorities, customers as well as the management of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck Europe and Daimler Trucks drew a positive conclusion from the real-life performance of the trucks.

  • Stuttgart / Bogotá, Colombia, Jun 18, 2015 - Daimler is further expanding its bus business in Latin America: the wholly owned subsidiary Daimler Colombia S. A. is opening a new bus plant in Funza near Bogotá with an installed capacity of 4,000 units per year. To this end, two million U.S. dollar are being invested in the bus plant in Colombia that occupies 11,000 square metres. As such the company is preparing for the growing demand for regular buses as well as efficient mobility solutions in the metropolises of the region.

  • Moscow/Nischni, Jun 2, 2015 - It is a milestone for Mercedes-Benz Vans in Russia: just one and a half years after the start of production in September 2013, the 10,000th Sprinter Classic has rolled off the assembly line in Nischni Nowgorod. In 2014 a record figure of 6600 vehicles were sold. This makes the Sprinter Classic the most popular van from the Mercedes-Benz portfolio in Russia and in terms of its sales figures in Russia Mercedes-Benz Vans is the number one of the international transporter brands.

  • Stuttgart/Sebes, Apr 4, 2014 - An important milestone at Daimler and the Romanian subsidiary Star Transmission was celebrated today attended by numerous guests: the ceremonial ground-breaking for a new assembly plant in Sebes was laid in the presence of Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta and representatives from both companies. Starting in 2016 the new Mercedes-Benz 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission will be assembled here.

(FBAC) has secured an order by the Dalian Wanda Group comprising 85 Mercedes-Benz Viano 3.0L vans. In the framework of a hand-over ceremony, the Chinese conglomerate has already taken over 70 of the ordered vehicles and has sent some of them on an exclusive shuttle assignment for international movie stars such as Catherine Zeta-Jones and Leonardo diCaprio on the occasion of the “Wanda Star-Shining Night.”

  • Beijing, Sep 23, 2013 - Daimler is underlining its commitment to China with a visionary construction project. Hubertus Troska, Daimler’s Board Member for Greater China, announced at an event in Beijing on Sunday that Daimler is planning to build a Mercedes-Benz Cultural Center. The building will feature striking architecture and provide a forum for cross-cultural dialogue in the Chinese capital. A core element of the project is a museum, the second ever Mercedes-Benz Museum to open worldwide. Since opening in May 2006, the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart has attracted more than 5 million visitors and won major architectural prizes.

  • Hambach, France , Jul 16, 2013 - Next milestone in the plant history: the smart Hambach plant produced the 1.5 millionth smart fortwo. The milestone vehicle, a white smart forwo electric drive cabrio, rolled off the production line before the beginning of the extended summer break: production will be paused for almost two months in July and August, as massive efforts are being taken to prepare the plant optimally for future production requirements with the renewal of large parts of the production installations.

  • Redford, Michigan, Jun 18, 2010 - Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) announced today that it will invest $194 million (approximately €157 million) in the Detroit Diesel engine production facility in Redford, Michigan. The investment will be supported by a variety of state and local incentives. These incentives include a Michigan Economic Growth Authority Award of $56.8 million (approximately €46 million), which is granted by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, as well as other state and local tax credits and abatements.

  • Moscow, Russia, Apr 20, 2010 - Daimler Trucks today announced the start of production of the Fuso Canter truck in Russia. The 7.5-ton truck produced by the joint venture Fuso Kamaz Trucks Rus (FKTR) is being presented to Russian trade visitors for the first time at the Comtrans trade show for commercial vehicles, which is being held in Moscow from April 20 to 24, 2010. Sales will start in June.
