  • Stuttgart/Munich, Feb 3, 2010 - Mercedes-Benz was among the most successful brands in the readers' vote for the "Off-roader of the Year 2010" held by the motoring magazine "Off Road". Within the portfolio the legendary G-Class was even able to notch up a double success: it won first place in the "Luxury off-roader" category, while the special EDITION.PUR model, which entered production in 2009 to mark the 30th anniversary of the G-Class, took second place in the "Classic" category.

  • Stuttgart, Jan 28, 2010 - What Car?, the UK's biggest car buyer's guide, has named Mercedes-Benz the winner of its 2010 prize for best safety innovation for the ATTENTION ASSIST feature, which is designed to combat overtiredness in drivers – one of the most frequent causes of accidents. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class also took home the Car of the Year Award for best buy in the luxury segment for the fourth time in succession.

  • Stuttgart/Affalterbach, Dec 17, 2009 - The new SLS AMG is to receive an internationally renowned design award, the "iF product design award 2010". The iF product design award was first presented in 1953, and ranks among the most impor-tant design awards of all. The 24-member jury chose 778 entries from around 2500 candidates in 16 categories; the SLS was up against numerous well-known competitors in the "Transportation Design" category.

  • Stuttgart, Nov 16, 2009 - The Mercedes E-Class wins the coveted "EuroCarBody Award 2009". At EuroCarBody, the world's largest car body benchmarking conference, a jury made up of about 400 conference delegates and board members voted the E-Class as the car with the best bodyshell. A total of nine new series-production bodies were presented in detail and scrutinised at the Euro-CarBody event held in Bad Nauheim, Germany at the end of October. The candidates included the Jaguar XJ, Audi R8 spyder and BMW 5 Series GT.

  • Stuttgart, Nov 13, 2009 - The readers of the Diners Club Magazine have elected the Mercedes E 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY as the "Car of the year with the best power-to-economy ratio". Thanks to its state-of-the-art diesel technology, the 150-kW/204-hp engine burns just 5.3 litres of diesel per 100 kilometres on the combined NEDC cycle. This equates to 139 grams of CO2 per kilometre.

  • Stuttgart, Oct 2, 2009 - The Stuttgart-based automobile manufacturer Daimler AG has won four first places in the Europe-wide survey to decide the 2009 Internet Auto Awards. The Mercedes-Benz B-Class was voted Europe's most popular van, for which it received the "Carolina" Trophy. The new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG took first place in the online vote for the most popular new product at this year's Frankfurt International Motor Show. The editors of AutoScout24 declared "e-mobility Berlin" with the smart electric drive to be the best environmental initiative – the first large-scale project for urban electro-mobility.

This is shown by a major survey on customer satisfaction among car buyers conducted by the world-famous J. D. Power Index. In this very informative study, first place in the luxury class was taken by the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. At the same time the business saloon was given a silver award for outstanding test results by the motoring magazine AUTO TEST.   • Stuttgart/Affalterbach, Jun 17, 2009 - In the coveted "International Engine of the Year Awards 2009", engines from Mercedes-Benz and AMG were voted the best in three categories. The AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine carried off two awards: in the "Best Performance Engine" and "Above 4 litres" categories, this high-revving, naturally aspirated engine developing up to 386 kW/525 hp took first place by a wide margin in each case. In the "2 to 2.5 litres" category, the new four-cylinder diesel unit from Mercedes-Benz also took first place by a comfortable margin.

  • Stuttgart, May 15, 2009 - Some 100,000 readers of motoring magazine AUTO BILD have voted the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class the best-looking car in Germany. As well as electing the Saloon as the overall winner among all the new models, AUTO BILD readers voted the new E-Class Coupé into top place in the "Coupé and Cabriolet" category. In making these choices, the readers have recognised two automotive personalities which deliberately seek to stand out with their individual character and bold, distinctive design.

  • Stuttgart/Bochum, Nov 17, 2008 - Mercedes-Benz was honoured last Friday with two golds at the ADAM and EVA Awards. The Stuttgart based carmaker won the coveted EVA Award in gold in the category "Corporate Events" for the world premiere of the CLC Sports Coupé at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. In the "XXL over 1,500 m2" category, the "Road to the Future" trade fair stand at the IAA 2007 received a gold ADAM, a coveted German trade fair communications award.

Readers of the motoring magazine "AUTO BILD Allrad" have given this successful trendsetter among today's SUVs the accolade of "Car of the Year 2008" in the category covering off-roaders and SUVs costing between 40,000 and 60,000 euros.   • Stuttgart, Nov 19, 2007 - With a total of 23 distinctions, Daimler AG emerged as the most suc-cessful participant from this year’s Michelin Challenge Bibendum in Shanghai. Seven cars from the Mercedes-Benz and smart brands faced up to the competition in the different disciplines of the globally most important event in the field of sustainable mobility. Some 80 participating cars were put to the test in the categories of accelera-tion, maneuverability, noise pollution, local pollutants, fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions (tank-to-tire).
